Facilitating Effective Retrospectives
Are your retrospectives failing to deliver meaningful results? Do retrospectives feel more like venting sessions? Are you now spending less and less time on them or skipping them altogether due to lack of engagement? Retrospectives are a key mechanism for continuous improvement. However, after a couple of great retrospectives, a team can quickly become used to the routine and retrospectives become boring, dull and uninspiring.
This 1-day immersive training and learning experience covers the essentials of facilitating effective retrospectives that bring about actionable items for continuous improvements. In our foundational Scrum courses, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) classes, participants got an introduction to retrospectives. In this workshop, we do a deep dive on the benefits of retrospectives and how they differ from traditional lessons learned. We cover the different stages of running a retrospective, explore different ways of gathering and analyzing data, and walk through over 50 different ways of conducting a retrospective. We catalogue them and learn which technique to use depending on the context and situation we are facing.
This is a hands-on training workshop where you learn by practicing based on prepared scenarios as well as scenarios that you’ve experienced. You will leave this workshop with a tool bag of creative techniques to keep retrospectives interesting, effective, engaging, and fun.
